Reika's light painting photos up

Reika did a great job doing light painting at Otakon. She used myself as Astaroth and Jadaira as subjects and... well it's best to just show you the results. =3

Otakon photos are up!

Hello everyone! I am sure by now you have heard I have a new mask, Astaroth from Shinra Bansho, a Japanese Card Game. You can see pics of her and Miharu in the new Otakon 2008 gallery. I am still waiting on pictures from Nami so there will be another set going up eventually. Plus I might find more on the Internet I can post. =3

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the Otakon pics I have right now and I hope everyone will like Astaroth as much as they do Miharu!

Vista Sidebar

Hello everyone! I got my laptop back yesterday, got Vista back on to it and I was playing around with the Vista Sidebar and I found a couple things fans of my site might be interested in.

Gallery
You can get random pictures from my gallery by using the Gallery Widget and in the settings point it to http://www.kigurumicafe.com/gallery and you will start to get random images.

News
You can also get news updates by using Hermes RRS to get site updates in the sidebar. Just give it this URL for the news feed http://www.kigurumicafe.com/?q=rss.xml

Translator
Not specific to my site but if you want help reading some of those Japanese pages, here is a nice translator.

I'm sure this should work in Macintosh too, but I'll have to bug Nami for how to do it since I don't own a Mac. =3

New Product: Bandannas! (Not Bananas =P)

This idea came about when I laid a bit of fabric on top of Miharu's head temporarily and it just happened to remind me of a bandanna. So I decided to make a couple just to see how I liked them. I think they look really cute! ^-^ I'll probably wear them during Otakon just to see how they look and hold up to walking about and wind. I can make them using any fabric available to me, so the styles and colors are pretty much unlimited.

More Rann fan art!

Rann, who has a webcomic called Wereworld, just sent me some more fan art and I just love it! =3 I busted out laughing at the mini comic and the chibi me is super cute =3

Two "new" videos~

Yeah they're not so "new" but they haven't been published before so they're kinda new =3 Anyway, the videos are of me and Kasi/FrostElf during our first (and only so far) webcam together when she first visited me.

Video: Part 1
Video: Part 2

Link Update:
I added Kimei's site to the list, so if you have a link that needs added or know of some other link I should have please get in contact with me so I can make links as good as they can be before the Otakon rush hits. Further info is down the page in my updates.

New Fanart~

I just received new fanart today from Rann, who has a webcomic called Wereworld so be sure to check it out. =3

I also seen Hellboy 2 with Nami. It was pretty good, a lot less action than I expected. Still good, but it felt really short. =3

Super Mega Kitty Content Update GO!

I've been sitting on these things for a bit and I figured since work was slow today, and I'm sorta done with Otakon preparations, I could take a few moments to update! ^-^

Calendar

Panel time announced!

I just got an email giving me when and where my panel will be.

"Kigurumi 101 & 102" has been scheduled for Friday, August 8, from 8-9:30pm in Panel 2 (rooms 324-326) The room seats a max of 200 people.

I will try to locate a map so we can know where it is going to be in the Baltimore Convention Center ahead of time. I might be able to scrounge up an old map of the BCC after work.

PS!
Read the post below and help me make sure no one's forgotten. =3 Also, now that we know time and place for the panel we can really start to plan the photoshoot! So be sure to check out Rabbit's forums.

Update! Bigger map you can actually print! =3
BIG map

Please help me add all the English/Western kigurumi to my links!

Since I will be doing the presentation at Otakon, I expect my site to get some hits from the material I will be passing out. I want to make sure everyone's website is linked on mine and their address is up to date so people can find everyone else as well since I do not have time to mention everyone in the presentation. I also do not want anyone to be forgotten so if you notice your site, or someone else's, is not listed PLEASE IM or email me with the site's title and URL so I can update my list.

It will take me a bit to get all the links up, so I will probably wait until I get a few to add them all at once to keep the updates to a minimum. So please be patient while I add the links in. =3

Also, if anyone is going to otakon and has photoshoot ideas for the convention, please post them here:

A second offsite photoshoot is being planned here:

New Anthrocon Pictures & Otakon Update

Hello everyone! I found some more AC pics thanks to help from Caldy. There aren't a lot of them, but they are new and different!

Otakon Update:

I am working very hard to complete the presentation. I am certain it will be a good one, but they sent me an email expanding the panel time from 1 hour to 1 hour and a half @_@ So I'm trying to add more content to make sure it is long enough for that extra time they gave. Right now I don't know what day or time the panel is on, they still need to finalize the schedule.

What I suggest is right after the panel we can try for a massive Western Kigurumi photoshoot by the fountains! Then after that we can go outside and take pictures all around the Baltimore area. If you have never been there are docks, boats, a museum, and lots of interesting shops and buildings to use.

So if you're going, and are interested in this just drop me a line somehow and we can figure out a way to stay in touch during Otakon. I am going to be taking my laptop, but since I have not had one before I don't know how widespread the wireless access is. I know the hotel will have it, but I don't know if the convention center will have it.

To discuss it online: http://www.rabbitinthemoon.us/forum/index.php?topic=411.msg3045#msg3045

Anthrocon 2008 Photos are up! (Videos to come...)

Hello everyone! ^-^ I finally had a moment today during work to put up the Anthrocon galleries. I have ones Nami, Kasi, Rabbit, and a new friend Caldy took and all of them are up in the gallery. Jadaira and I did soooo many photos/videos at Anthrocon, so there are quite a few photos to look through. Videos... yeah they take more time to get online so be patient. =3 Until then enjoy the photos!

(PS: If you're wondering who the gray kitty is, that's Jadaira =3)

This just in... Miharu's on the news!

Hello everyone! I was at Anthrocon this year and I had an absolute blast. I had a news crew interview me and my new kitty friend Jadaira and I figured we'd get cut again like at Otakon where Reika and I were interviewed, then cut out =( But this time they kept us in! I found out while I was still at the convention, I received a text message telling me we had made it into the final article! I was running around the hotel room seeing who could manage to save the video off the news channel site before it was gone. Thankfully we got it and when I got home I also found it on YouTube =3 We're at the very end if you are not interested in the news story, it's short so you won't have to sit through much.

Here's a link to the video on YouTube.

And here's a link directly to the news station which also has a small article:
http://kdka.com/local/Anthrocon.Convention.furries.2.759101.html

I had a lot of fun as I already said... but I really couldn't find anyone after the second day =( I met Mac, Rabbit, Stria, and I think Casidhe... I couldn't see too well since I can't wear my glasses inside Miharu. And if I wear my sunglasses I REALLY can't see. ^^;;; So hopefully I didn't seem too out of it, I'm really inside Miharu squinting and such trying to make out faces lol. I wanted to take photos with everyone after the Furry Femme photo shoot but everyone kind of dispersed and went their own ways and I figured I could find them later, but alas no ^^; Maybe at Otakon =3

Most of the time I spent with my new kitty friend Jadaira (the black/grey kitty with me in the news footage). So we have a lot of photos and videos that I need to get onto my site, so expect lots of updates to come! Especially with my Garden photoshoot and Otakon coming up, it'll be a long stream of updates for a while to come!

Some of the random fun I had at Anthrocon was I played in some games as Miharu. I played a card game called Werewolf where you are dealt a card to tell you if you are a towns person, werewolf or someone special like a seer. Everyone automatically assumed I was a werewolf and started pointing at me, they didn't hang me until the 3rd round only to find I was innocent ^^;; But it was a really fun game!

I also played a game they forgot the name of, where one person is the actor and sent out of the room, the audience thinks of a simple task like stacking a chair and that actor has to complete it. To let them know how they're doing it goes by strength of applause. So it's a little like a hot/cold idea. It's pretty funny to watch! One of my ideas was used to have the actor kiss one of the paintings in the room, that was pretty funny. ^-^

My favorite one was playing Pictionary... though my team kept getting weird things to draw. Like I was up first, and the other team had something simple like Lion, I got Kenya! How the heck do I draw Kenya? ^^;; I passed on it after a few and got Angel instead. That one was easy thankfully. In the end I had Kenya, Angel, Pink Panther, Lion King and Jungle Book. Our team won on my last drawing of Lion King and squeezed the other team out by a few seconds, but they were leading the whole time before that. So we got to choose a little grab bag full of candy and little fun items like kazoos and finger puppets. I like the finger puppets best, I made my parrot and bear fight... and since the bear has no arms and the parrot has a beak, the parrot won. Poor bear. =3

I made some new friends like Caldy, who was kind enough to take in a left behind kitty and have some fun. That's who I went to those games with =3 We had a lot of fun. ^-^ I met a lot of nice people and seen some great fur suits. It really makes me want my own~ perhaps in the future? =3

Anyway, thanks to all who talked with me at Anthrocon and took my photo, it was a pleasure to meet you ^-^

Going to Anthrocon!

Anthrocon

As the title says, I'm heading to Anthrocon at the end of the month. Kasi kinda talked me into it, but I have been wondering what one is like for a while. For more information on Anthrocon, visit their web site.

Ayumi News!

Ayumi is doing a LOT better! When she first arrived she was whining when separated from me, and difficult to potty train. Well last week we got the whining taken care of, she's now crate trained and sleeps with me in my room. But today she made me SO happy! I was in the bathroom on a break, in she comes trotting pass me and walks right over to the litter box and uses it! ^-^v I squealed and had Nami get me a treat for her, she got lots of petting and praise for that! So it looks like she's learning that too! Now to see if she does it consistently. The funny thing was she went from not doing it at all, to just walking in and using the box like she always did it that way. It was odd yet good!
