Hello everyone!
I'm officially announcing my new Kigurumi creation studio, www.TigerWorks.org and here is my very first mask, and suit, made completely by me! Her name is Alejandra Coldthorn and is from a webcomic called "Las Lindas" and she was made with full permission of the creator Chalo. I also have permission to make more of the characters later!
There are a few videos of her on my video page already, and this is her premiere photoshoot to properly show off the craftsmanship involved. Some of these pictures will naturally navigate over to www.TigerWorks.org to show the quality I can make for all potential buyers. For now please enjoy the videos, and the new gallery!
I wanted to get this done before Easter, and thankfully I had today off and Nami was kind enough to help take photos again! We went to a local park and had some odd looks obviously, a couple just had to come up and ask about me too hehe... but it was fun! I was also tempted to go running over to a lady having a picnic by herself but I thought she might go running off if I did. =P I also pulled up my Easter photo shoot from last year, and it had exactly 41 photos too! Weeeeird! =3
Update to the update! =3
I just noticed... when I posted in Rabbit's forum to give my Easter pictures, the number 41 (The number of photos in each of my Easter photo shoots for this and last year) is ALSO my total number of posts when I gave the Easter pictures!! Look! Now it's even creepier! =P

I have had these a while, last time I tried to take photos they came out blurry, and these did too. I think it's because of the shiny coating they're in that's messing with the focus. But they are a lot crisper in person than these photos make them out to be.
This is my first photoshoot of the year and I tried something new. I played with both fire and water at once with this one, and just about burnt my tail tip! Thankfully nothing bad happened, but I did get wet obviously! I may do another Valentine's Day photoshoot for Astaroth if I have the time, and I probably will, but I still need to fix the leg zipper (again) since the old one keeps breaking. So that has to happen first. But anyway...
This photoshoot was pretty fun. I got the idea from seeing a Japanese kigurumi just sitting in a tub of water, doing nothing. I thought it should be more exciting so I had this in the back of my mind for a while and decided it would make a nice Valentine's shoot, Miharu enjoying a nice romantic bath. Unfortunately she drew the bath herself, but that's alright! It was definitely different being in suit, and soaking wet. I immediately washed Miharu's suit right after I got out to make sure the bubble bath would not damage her at all.
But I have to say after the bath I was really relaxed even if it was shorter than a normal bath. The water was nice and hot, and the weather was nice all day. So I guess it was a combo of it all, but I felt really great after the bath and slept really well! So maybe I'll do it again in the future! =3 Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photoshoot!
Happy holidays everyone!
I finally finished the holiday shoot... I may do more if I get any other ideas since everything is still set up but who knows if I will. Anyway here are few of the many photos taken (67 total so far).
Hello everyone! The version of the gallery I had been using was bugging both me and a few others, so I decided to change it. Before it would load all the images before it would display anything, causing a huge download all at once. So for those on slow connections it was a problem. This new way to display images should not cause the same problems, but if you experience any issues please let me know.
The rest is just code updates to keep my site current, but if something breaks let me know!
I received two new pieces of fan art over the weekend and here they are!
The first one is from Tiff
And the second is from someone who asked to remain anonymous.
I was burning copies of Ubuntu for Vectorman and I just had the urge to doodle on them. At first I was doing simple tiger faces... then I wanted to draw Astaroth, but I couldn't draw her simply. So I took some time and drew her onto the cd. Well... I liked it so much I decided to keep that one myself, but I needed to make another to send him, so I made a Miharu CD!
I have had this for over a year now, I had it before last year's Christmas but it was too late to try and sell it. But this year I made it available for everyone! Get your own custom sized Santa hat now in the store just in time for the holidays! If you're ordering last minute, and are worried it might not make it in time for your photoshoot please talk to me so we can see about faster shipping. Click on Christmas Miharu below for the shop page to place your order, or see me personally if you like!
I finally got around to creating a quick page for how her horns were made. I was the one that made them, I didn't have help from anyone else. The ones that originally came were small and made of cloth, so I decided to make them the proper size and tough! Click on either picture to view the entire tutorial.
During the recent "Astaroth Croft" photoshoot on the waterfalls Nami also helped me take some video. I should have done a few more action sequences but it was cold and we were losing the light, so this is all we did.
I have never edited video like this before. I've done some minor cutting to take out boring parts of my webcams where I'm just typing or I walk away to change, correct the lighting/color but that's it. Today I had to learn how to use Adobe Premiere from scratch. So from about 10am to just before 6pm I was learning and editing at the same time. I have to admit it was rather fun to learn all of this and make the video. I think the outcome was pretty darn good for a first time edit! Let me know what you think!
There were some funny things caught on tape, not many, but I might do a tiny blooper reel later.
Anyway, HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
Wow! It took me what seemed like FOREVER to finally get this done. Little things kept stopping me from getting the costume together or getting the photo shoot done. So let me give a little back story on everything that happened yesterday for the shoot. We went about 3 hours away for the location, took me a while to finally find and decide on a location, nothing seemed perfect for the costume and I found this one too late last weekend so we couldn't go since it'd be dark by the time we made it. But everything went well this weekend, well... almost everything but I'll explain that later.
The costume itself was a bit difficult to get together even though it seems pretty plain. This time of year finding shorts is impossible so I ended up getting stretchy black jeans and cutting/hemming the legs off completely. The top was also difficult to find due to the time of year since it too is usually meant for warmer weather. And the shirt was a little baggy so I also had to modify it as well so it fit me better, but wasn't too tight. The left leg holster was also difficult to find since I guess there aren't many left handed people in the world so the supply/demand is low. The guns were the biggest pain, at first I was just looking for toy guns that looked similar. THAT was impossible, only toy guns they make now seem to be obviously not real guns for shooting things like water or darts, or the wild west 6 shooter sort. A local party shop had some toy guns and I was going to settle for those, but eBay pulled through for me with air soft movie replicas! But they were all black, and her guns had silver on them... so I had to mask almost all of the guns off to paint it. So the rest was simple, braid Astaroth's hair, get my boots out, cut some old socks so the tops would be seen above the boots, etc.
But I think the photo shoot went great! And the location is one I don't think any kigurumi has gone to. Actual waterfalls! Yep, that's not cool photoshop that's actually me ON TOP of a water fall! Most of the photo shoot was around the falls themselves or just a bit away. It was a bit cold out and the day light was fading otherwise I could have went a little further down stream to some rather large rocks but maybe another time.
There were people around despite the cold weather and it was kind of funny that as soon as I appeared people just wandered off. I stepped out of the car and cars left. I stepped atop the falls and people left. I don't know which was scarier, the fact that I was a demon or the fact that I was a demon with guns! =P But at the end as we were walking back to the car there was a little girl and her mom and dad that stopped us for photos. The little girl was so cute, at first she was happy, then kinda unsure of getting near me for photos, then asked me TONS of questions. Like: Do you live in a house? Do you have a room? etc etc... =3
All and all it was fun, well worth it, but cold brrrrr! The bad part of it was the whole time I had to use the rest room but there were too many people going in and out, and there was no sanitary place to put my mask while I used the facilities. So I really had to go, and had a 3hr ride home. Once I got home, I was stuck in my suit! One leg wouldn't unzip because the zipper separated a TINY bit at the top. Nothing fixed it and I ended up thread ripping my way out. So now I have to get a new zipper to repair it =( So... no Astaroth for a while until I can fix that. ;_;
But anyway, there are many great pictures and some wallpapers that came out of everything so I hope you enjoy them!
(BTW, if you haven't figured it out... Astaroth is dressed as Lara Croft from Tomb Raider =P)
PS: I almost forgot to mention this, but I originally didn't intend to match the new Lara Croft outfit in the upcoming game next month. I just put together what I thought she'd wear after buying another set of shorts and shirt, I used these. Then only found out afterward while looking her up again for location ideas, came across the new game photos. I thought that was worth mentioning. =3
I showed this to some already, but I couldn't box the mask and horns together for Astaroth so I needed a second case just to transport her around. The cardboard box just wasn't cutting it hehe.
Well like I said I found a cool little game that's free to play. I was looking for something to kill time with and this certainly does the trick. I've been leveling up pretty fast. I'm hoping someone else will want to play, the art is cute and chibi and there's a good bit to do. But since it's free, it won't hurt to check it out =P Anyway, if you join my name on there is Okiku so look me up! =3
This weekend I decorated my nails! Usually I just paint them one color and that's it, but somehow I got the idea of painting them orange and tiger striping them a week or so ago. So I found some orange nail polish, I already had black so I didn't need that, and I found some cute glitter polish at the grocery store. So on Saturday night I sat and painted my nails orange, only got one hand done before I had to go to bed, next morning I started again after I woke up enough. I finished my left hand and started on the right, I had a few accidents... bumped a nail or two against things while the stripes were drying, so it was hard to fix them but I got it. I had to paint the stripes on with a toothpick, which was a bit difficult especially when it was my left hand drawing stripes on my right. I'm right handed so you can imagine how difficult it was doing something so delicate with your left.
But in the end I think everything turned out well, and I used 4 different polishes. Orange, black, glitter, and a nail hardening sealer for extra strength and durability. Hopefully they won't chip too soon ^^;; I'll be sad if they do...
